DESCRIPTION

Meet Leonard!

After making the journey north from one of our partner shelters in Texas, Leonard is ready to find a home that truly understands him. This handsome young tabby is full of personality, affection, energy, and just the right amount of chaotic, charming antics. Leonard is incredibly people-oriented and loves being close to his humans, whether that means curling up in your lap, rubbing all over you for attention, making biscuits while purring away, or following you from room to room. Like many adolescent cats still learning boundaries, Leonard can also become overstimulated quickly, and his affectionate behavior may suddenly shift, because of this, he's looking for an experienced cat home with adopters who are comfortable reading feline body language, respecting his space, and helping him continue to use appropriate outlets for all his big feline feelings and energy.

Leonard is playful, active, vocal, athletic, and endlessly curious. Wand toys, string toys, climbing opportunities, and sturdy scratchers are some of his favorite things. He's also very interested in the outdoors hoping for a chance to explore, so he may especially enjoy a safe indoor/outdoor lifestyle, catio, or other secure outdoor access once properly acclimated. Leonard would likely thrive in a home with plenty of space where he doesn't feel overly confined and may prefer being the only pet, as introductions to other animals proved overwhelming for him in his previous home. Beneath all the energy and quirks is an affectionate young cat who truly wants connection and companionship. For the right experienced adopter, Leonard has the potential to become an incredibly rewarding cat companion.

Dogs: Leonard may thrive in a home without dogs.
Cats: Leonard may thrive in a home without other cats.
Children: Leonard may thrive in a home with teenagers and adults.
