From the Foster Family:

This lovely girl came to us with injuries compatible with having been thrown from a car. She was found abandoned, underweight, and sick from both injuries as well as infections. The kind lady who found her kept her in a garden shed until we took her in as a foster.

Velvet is very food motivated; loves to play with the other one year old kitten we have and she is fearless! She approaches all five of our cats and two dogs with interest, curiosity and really wants to cuddle with the dogs who each are 60-70 pounds each. She would do best in a home with at least one more cat to play with and would enjoy cat tolerant dogs if they were in the household. She is the energizer bunny, though over the last few weeks has finally slowed down to enjoy naps with, and pets from humans. She is in the process of learning boundaries, as she can get into the other animal’s space and doesn’t respond to their clues to “move along”. She loves her cat condo and is an impressive climber. She only scratches on her cat condo and has never failed to use the litter box.

About Me: Hi I’m Velvet! I am a “rambunctious bundle of joy”, or so my foster mom says. I love to sit on her lap for pets and sit behind her on the couch when I nap with my paws up against her. She serves the BEST kitten food ever! I used to not have food, so I do love feeding times!

The beginning of my life was not very good. I don’t dwell on it, but I was very sick when someone finally listened to my cries for help. Since then, I just love the world! I have a play buddy here and we wrestle and tumble, having so much fun. I like having the other animals around and the big fluffy cat holds me down and licks me! The dogs are so calm all the time, so I try to bring excitement to their lives. They aren’t so sure about that, but I think they are great! I love sitting in the windows and chittering at the birds outside. Everything is an adventure!

I would love to find a forever home with another or few animal friends I can play with and spend time with. I would be lonely alone, I think. With slow introductions, I think we would learn to be buddies. I do enjoy people but ones that don’t try to force me to do things at their pace. I learn quickly but want to do it at my own speed. Dare I say the squirt bottle works as a hard stop if I’m really pushing limits. Do you have space in your heart and home for a kitten who started life out hard, but doesn’t let it hold me back now? I have so much love to give!
