DESCRIPTION
Principal Prickly was estimated to have been born in the summer of 2023. When he first came to the shelter, he was very angry and spent almost every day hissing at our volunteers. Now, he is a sweetheart! He is outgoing, loves to be petted, and is so excited to see visitors. He gets along well with other cats and is looking forward to having a home he doesn't have to share with 35 others!
We recently took in a large volume of cats from a hoarding situation in Clarion County, where approximately 36 cats were removed from a residential home. Clarion PAWS took 15 (plus 2 surprise kittens), and ANNA Shelter took 21. We decided to name all of the kitties after characters from the TV show Recess.
We also want to extend our gratitude to special volunteers from the Clarion Cat Initiative Group & Tri-county Animal Rescue Center, Pennsylvania, as well as the local police, who assisted with capture and transport. This was a true team effort by many organizations.
All cats have been spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested, and received basic vaccinations, including a rabies vaccine, have been dewormed, and microchipped.
Adoption fee for Kittens up to a year old is $120
The Adoption Fee for Adult Cats is $70
We offer a 20% Discount for Multiple Adoptions
An adoption application is required and can be downloaded at:

Rescue does not stop at the shelter threshold. We now face rounds of vaccines, flea/worm meds, FeLV/FIV testing, and spaying/neutering of all individuals.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
- Monetary donation via this FB post, Venmo @ClarionPAWS, or mail to [Clarion PAWS, PO Box 804, Clarion, PA 16214]
- Donate from our wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2WFFPZTOIMF0E...
- Adopt a kitty (or two). If you've been thinking about it for a while, please visit us and submit an adoption application! Making space in the shelter will ease our burden.
- Sit with our kitties during open hours. Totally FREE! Some of them are shy and not attractive candidates for adoption. Come in and curl up with a book, some music, or scroll through TikTok while you sit with them. Feed them some yummy churu slurries and play with string toys. Sounds boring, but it makes a difference.
Don't forget to show support for the ANNA Shelter as well!
As always, many kitty purrs of thanks in advance
