Crookshanks "Crook" - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania

Crookshanks came to the rescue as a stray and is estimated to have been born in May 2026. This little fella is super sweet. He loves to be held and petted. He of course loves to play.

When Crook came to the rescue, he was unable to straigthen his rear right leg. The vet determined our little guy suffered a femur fracture and an injure to his tibia. When the leg healed, the patellar ligament was trapped and his leg healed in a bent position. Amputation was not pursued as he is able to move and control his foot and is not in pain. However, the vet indicated as he gets older, amputation may be necessary, so this is something a potential adopter needs to keep in mind when considering adoption.

Crook runs and plays like a normal kitten. He is unbothered by his leg. He does appear to have limited jumping ability, but he has no issues crawling up everything. He gets along with other cats. Crook was in a foster home with dogs and he just avoided them.
