THE "TARTAN TABBIES" invaded the shelter on July 15, and we're all just mad about the plaids! Five friendly, active, near-identical tabbies, about 10 weeks old, one lassie and four laddies... Agnes, Angus, Malcolm, Hamish and Haggis. They were a little timid at first, but all very easy to handle, very easy to pick up and cuddle and love. Now that they've been with us a few days and are spending time in our kitten playroom, they're finding the joy in toys and rediscovering their inner kitten... marching around, playing their bagpipes, yelling, "No SCOT-LUHN, No PAH-TEE!"
They are adoptable individually, or as litter mates if you REALLY want a pah-tee! All will be very good with other cats, and kittens always adjust to living with dogs very quickly, as long as the dog is not aggressive towards small creatures. And they will have a happy life with people of any age, including very young children.
The Tartan Tabbies have not yet seen a vet, as they are too young for spay/neuter, but have received de-wormers and flea treatments. Their mama tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. All are box-trained as well. Adoption fee is $25 to cover basic costs at the shelter, plus a state-mandated $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is fully refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. Adopter assumes all medical costs, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to "Town of Scituate." No cash is accepted.
For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We prefer to schedule kitten visitors, as space in our kitten playroom is limited, so please do CALL before visiting to coordinate your visit, and to make sure the kittens are still available. They do get claimed very quickly!
