DESCRIPTION
05/13/26 - Kittens are gaining mild weight but still have severe URI. 05/05/26 16:06 These two 3-4 week old kittens are in critical need of rescue placement. They are suffering from severe upper respiratory infection (URI) that has not responded to ongoing treatment (eye medication, doxycycline, fluid support and nebulization), and they are failing to gain weight despite supportive care.
Due to their young age and declining condition, they require intensive, around-the-clock neonatal and medical support, including advanced interventions and monitoring that go beyond what the shelter can provide at this time. With the current high volume of neonatal kittens in care, the shelter is unable to continue the level of treatment necessary to give them a chance at recovery. We have a litter of 2 kittens weighing between 0.53 and 0.58 grams/ounces. Eating formula every 3 hours. Latching well.
