Sophie
Est DOB 6/2/25
Adoption fee $225
Sophie has a special way of finding her people. When her foster mom tried to trap this neighborhood stray, Sophie had other plans! Instead of going into the trap, she decided to take a nap beside it, then followed her rescuer around, rubbing against her legs. Clearly, Sophie was ready to leave street life behind and start her next chapter!
Sophie is a sweet, gentle, and somewhat shy girl who just needs a little time to feel safe. Once she gets to know you, her affectionate personality begins to shine. She’ll follow you around, rub against your legs, and happily keep you company while you get ready for the day. She’s not necessarily a lap cat by nature, but if you invite her onto your lap, she may settle in for a while, purring away as you pet her. And here’s an adorable bonus: Sophie drools when she’s really happy and enjoying your affection!
This girl has plenty to say, too! Sophie has the cutest little voice and loves to chat with her people. She also has an excellent appetite for treats and wet food, which can be a great way to win her heart.
Sophie LOVES other cats! This is where her personality really lights up. When she sees another cat, she’ll rub against them, flop onto the floor to show off her belly, trill excitedly, and reach out with her paws as if to say, “Come be my friend!” Her current feline companions aren’t quite as welcoming as she’d like, so Sophie would absolutely love a home with a friendly, social kitty who would enjoy having her around. A feline friend could help her feel more confident and give her the companionship she craves.
Sophie is accustomed to small, respectful dogs. She hasn’t been introduced to a large dog yet, so any introductions to bigger dogs would need to be slow and thoughtful, with a calm, respectful dog who understands boundaries.
Right now, Sophie is being fostered in a bathroom while her foster family cares for a large dog. This sweet girl is ready for something more: a home of her own, with room to explore, a cozy place to relax, and people who will give her the time and patience she needs to blossom.
If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a sweet voice, an affectionate side, and a heart full of love for other cats, Sophie might just be your girl. Give her a little time, earn her trust, and you’ll discover what a special little soul she is.
The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.
All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are vaccinated. If they have been rescued as kittens under 4 months, they will not have a rabies vaccine. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.
We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
