Chandler may look like every other sweet, cute black kitten with a few little white tufts - until he tries to walk or eat and .... then you notice he has ‘Wobbly Cat’ Syndrome (CH – cerebellar hyperplasia). This impacts balance and motor/ muscular coordination. So, Chandler needs to be monitored – soft surfaces, supported climbing, bowls he can manage – as he gets older, he will be better able to manage his body.
He is the only surviving kitten from his litter and he is a real survivor. He has an extremely independent attitude, but his favorite thing is to be cuddled. He has a best friend who also has physical disabilities and they love to hang out with all the other cats. Chandler plays with anything – doesn’t have to be toys – but he often is clumsy and has to lie down to manipulate toys.
He is not a fussy eater – he will share food with all the others EXCEPT when its boiled chicken or similar treats which he protects closely! He does need to have bowls that don’t tip over easily and at a comfortable height to avoid bending over causing tremors.
Chandler uses any type of litter box that has a low enough entrance and needs deep litter to help maintain his balance. Because of his CH, he does need help with some grooming tasks.
The vet said – I can’t hear his heart – He’s purring too loudly!!
Date of birth is approximated as 8/8/26. Gregory is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, combo tested, and received regular flea and worm treatments.
YES – a very affectionate baby who deserves a chance at a great home where it’s OK to fall down a lot!!
If you are interested in meeting Chandler he will be at Petco Saturday and Sunday from 12-3pm at 537 N Pacific Coast Hwy Redondo Beach or contact his foster Judy 213-840-2766
