Bowie is a super sweet, gentle, quiet old man! He was born in late 2012 and is declawed. CCAD pulled Bowie from the humane society at the beginning of June. It was apparent immediately that he was underweight but also ravenous for food and water. We quickly got him an appointment at the cat hospital where he was diagnosed with diabetes.
This diagnosis has not prevented Bowie from living his best life though! He was started on insulin injections twice daily and he has been a trooper about it. Bowie is a really easy cat to medicate and does not mind the injections at all. He has been improving greatly since starting his medication and has already gained some weight back! Bowie still loves to eat and has recently found the joys of being out in the catio. He also loves all people and cats (he has taken a strong liking to our old lady Maven), being petted, and following volunteers around waiting for attention.
Bowie is considered special needs since he is diabetic, but do not let that deter you! If you are interested in adopting Bowie, we will train you on all aspects of treating a cat with diabetes and will always be there to support you and Bowie. Our vet tech volunteer will cover everything in detail and answer any questions you may have. This sweet old man deserves a loving forever home and he will repay you with constant love and companionship!
