Gemini is a domestic shorthair black female who is approximately 2 years old.
Meet Gemini! True to her zodiac-inspired name, Gemini has both a quiet, gentle side and a playful streak that shines through once she feels safe and comfortable. She may be a little shy when meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment, but with patience, understanding, and a calm home, her sweet personality slowly begins to blossom.
Gemini absolutely loves cozy dome beds where she can curl up, relax, and observe the world from the comfort of her safe little hideaway. Having a quiet space to retreat to helps her build confidence at her own pace.
We are already beginning to see encouraging signs of progress. Gemini is starting to accept people entering her space, even though trust is still something she is learning. If someone reaches out to pet her, she may still cower or flinch, but these reactions are becoming part of a much bigger picture of gradual growth. She now chooses to come out into the open more often while people are in the room, and instead of cautiously slinking from place to place, she walks with noticeably more confidence. One of her biggest milestones has been taking treats directly from our hands, especially her favourite tube treats, as long as we're patient and let her approach at her own pace. These may seem like small moments, but for Gemini they represent tremendous progress and show that she is capable of building trust, it will simply take time.
She also has a playful streak, especially when catnip is involved. Catnip toys are one of her favourite treats, and they're a wonderful way to bring out her fun-loving side.
Gemini will need a patient adopter who understands that earning her trust will be a journey, not something that happens overnight. She isn't a lost cause, far from it. Every small step she takes shows that she wants to learn that people can be safe and kind. For someone willing to give her the time and compassion she deserves, watching her continue to grow into a confident, trusting companion will be incredibly rewarding.
She would likely do well with other cats and dogs with a proper, slow introduction.
Gemini is spayed, vaccinated with RCCP and rabies, FIV and FeLV negative, microchipped, and on parasite prevention. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt, please submit an adoption application found in the drop-down menu on our website.
