Nick - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Prince Frederick, Maryland

Nick is a whole lot of cat—35 pounds of him, to be exact. And while there is certainly more of Nick to love, his weight is no laughing matter.

At 35 pounds, Nick is dangerously overweight, and it has significantly impacted his ability to comfortably do the everyday things a cat should be able to do. He deserves the opportunity to feel better, move easier, groom himself comfortably, play, explore, and simply enjoy being a cat again.

Ideally, we would love to find Nick a dedicated foster home or rescue placement where his weight-loss journey can be closely managed. But if the right adopter comes along who understands that helping Nick isn't as simple as feeding him less—and is genuinely willing to put in the time, patience, veterinary guidance, and long-term commitment necessary to safely get him to a healthier weight—who are we to say no?

Nick didn't become 35 pounds overnight, and he won't become healthy overnight either. His journey will require consistency, appropriate nutrition and portion control, veterinary oversight, gradual increases in activity, and plenty of patience. This needs to be a safe, gradual weight-loss journey—not a crash diet.

What Nick needs most is someone willing to invest in his future. His goal isn't a number on a scale; it's giving him back the mobility, comfort, independence, and quality of life that every cat deserves.

If you're a rescue, potential foster, or an adopter ready to take on a very special transformation project, Nick may be waiting for you.
