Meet Alfie — A Handsome Boy With a Big Heart

Say hello to Alfie, a handsome 1-year-old tuxedo boy with striking blue-green eyes, a wonderfully silly personality, and a heart full of love.

Alfie may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him just a bit of time and youll discover the playful, affectionate sweetheart underneath. Once he feels comfortable, Alfie is all about pets, playtime, and being close to his people. In fact, when he is especially happy, he may even show his affection by giving his humans little licks!

This boy is also a serious professional perch explorer. If theres a cat tree, window perch, or cabinet top in the room, Alfie believes it is his personal observation deck. He loves finding the highest spot he can, surveying his kingdom, and then coming back down when its time for attention. Feather toys and catnip toys are also high on his list of favorite things — especially when he gets to hunt them like the magnificent little predator he believes himself to be.

Alfie has an especially sweet relationship with his sister, Daphne. The two love chasing one another, wrestling, playing, and making sure everyone is properly groomed. Their bond is full of the silly antics and companionship that make having cats such a joy.

A Note About Alfie's Heart

Alfie has been diagnosed with a heart condition called hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). This means the muscle of his heart is thicker than normal, which can make it harder for the heart to relax and fill properly. The good news is that Alfies condition is currently considered mild. NWAC is happy to set up time with our vet to discuss this condition with any serious potential adopters!

Alfie takes atenolol, a medication that helps his heart beat less forcefully. He will need ongoing veterinary care and monitoring, but his diagnosis does not change the fact that Alfie is a happy, playful young cat who has so much love and personality to give.

Alfie is looking for someone who will appreciate all of his wonderful quirks, give him a little patience while he gets comfortable, keep up with his medical care, and let him continue being the affectionate, goofy, high-perch-loving boy that he is.
