Responding to Petfinder is not a completion of an application. We do not adopt out of a local adoption area. Inquiries that ask questions listed in this bio may not be answered - the foster is a volunteer and has a heavy work schedule (to pay the bills for fostering) and has tried to answer the common questions that are received so that information is available to adopters. Pictures of this kitty were current as of 6/26
These two girls are quite a team and while they can be adopted separately they would love to find a home together. Kehlani is expected to have longer hair and Kedarake is a short hair. They came from a very difficult environment that was not a great place for kitties. Kehlani is outgoing but Kedarke is a bit on the shy side so she needs a family willing to give her time to adjust. Both have lower play levels. Both have some limited dog exposure. If not adopted together they must go to a home that has another pet to be a companion. Both are good with their kitty box. Kedarake and Kehlani are FIV+ but can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats without an issue. FIV is feline immunodeficiency virus. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV. FIV is primarily transmitted to other cats via extreme bites (must be transmitted through blood) and is not transferred via litterboxes or food bowls. It is not contagious to other cats in non-aggressive households. Actually, many people own FIV+ cats and do not even know they carry this virus. It is asymptomatic and unless a blood test is performed, there is no way of knowing if a cat has it. FIV is ABSOLUTELY NOT transmittable to humans or dogs. The latest studies show that FIV cats live just as long as non-FIV cats. Kedarake and Kehlani are young and healthy and expected to have a normal lifespan. They have been through so much in their life- now they need a loving forever home.
Anyone interested in our cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. To fill out an application on line, just go to www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and click on the Adoption Application link.
