Lightning Bug may be named after a tiny creature that glows, but this handsome brown tabby kitten shines brightest when there's food involved. Estimated to have been born 4/10/26, he is equal parts energetic playmate, professional cuddler, and self-appointed Chief Food Quality Inspector.
Lightning Bug loves people and is more than happy to accept pets, cuddles, kisses, and being held. He'll curl up on or beside his favorite humans during naps and at bedtime, proving that even the busiest little kitten needs a cozy place to recharge. Of course, his naps are usually just brief intermissions between important activities like chasing toys, wrestling with his siblings, and searching for his next snack.
When it comes to playtime, Lightning Bug is fully charged. Feather wands are his favorite, but spring toys, toy mice, balls, and lasers are all guaranteed to get his attention. He has plenty of kitten energy and loves playing with his siblings. He's also very interested in making friends with his foster's adult cat, although the feeling is not exactly mutual. Lightning Bug remains optimistic and continues to extend invitations to play, while the adult cat has apparently chosen to decline the offer and leave the meeting.
His greatest passion, however, is food. Lightning Bug takes mealtime very seriously and has been known to push his siblings aside in an enthusiastic attempt to sample everyone's dinner. Because sharing is apparently a concept still under review, he does best with his own plate. If he had a job, he would undoubtedly be a food taste tester-but his performance reviews might mention that he occasionally tries to taste-test the entire department's lunch.
Despite his love of food, Lightning Bug is also a sweet, affectionate boy who enjoys being close to his people and cuddling with his siblings. He has the perfect kitten balance: full-speed zoomies when the toys come out, followed by an impressive nap once his battery finally runs low.
Because he is social, playful, and always looking for a willing wrestling partner, Lightning Bug must be adopted into a home with another young, playful cat or kitten. He would be especially happy to go home with one of his siblings, where he can continue his important work as both playmate and unofficial food supervisor.
If you're looking for a kitten who will brighten your home with endless energy, affectionate snuggles, and a hilarious amount of enthusiasm for dinner, Lightning Bug is ready to light up your life. Just make sure everyone gets their own plate.
