Who's ready for soup? Everyone should be raising their hands for our Soup, a sweetheart of a cat. Look at that face! And check out Soup all snuggled up in his foster's lap. Soup has spent time in a foster home to help him unwind from the sudden change in his life, which can be very overwhelming to a lot of animals. Being overwhelmed makes sense for him as he was adopted as a kitten, but now, at 7 years of age, his family is moving so he’s come back to the shelter to look for what we hope will be his forever home. His foster mom gave this report on him: 'This boy took a bit of time to unwind in foster. He was scared and hid and hissed. Once he began to play with a laser light and other toys, he became settled. He has a great appetite and will give a high-pitched meow when he sees you getting his food. We play hide the Temptations treats which he enjoys. Delectables Squeeze Ups are such a favorite he recognizes when you are holding one in your hand. Litterbox habits are perfect. He loves to sit beside you or on your lap after dinner. He will roll over for a belly rub. He has extremely soft fur and will melt into you if you rub his head, ears or chin. He understands "Are you hungry?", "time for bed" and the word “no". New noises will frighten him. He will hide for a while but will return. He enjoys windows in order to watch what is happening out there or sleeping in the sunshine.' Soup is a smart boy indeed. He will need a family that understands a very slow intro to his new home is a must. But as his foster has proven, given him time to adjust, and you will be rewarded with a stupendous cat.
Soup's adoption fee of $100 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FELV, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Soup is still spending quiet time with his loving foster, so if you wish to meet Soup, please call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment.
