First things first: yes, Sherman is a girl.

When Sherman and her siblings originally came to me from ACCT, she was listed as a boy, and I had absolutely no reason to question it! So she became Sherman, we got attached to the name, and life went on. Fast-forward to her spay appointment, where we learned that our little Sherman was, in fact, a girl. At that point the name had already stuck, so Sherman she shall remain.

As for who Sherman actually is, she's a sweet, curious, independent little girl with a laid-back personality.

Compared with some of her more energetic littermates, Sherman is lower-energy for a kitten. She certainly has her playful moments and enjoys exploring and climbing, but she doesn't need to be in the middle of kitten chaos all day long. She's perfectly comfortable wandering off, entertaining herself, or finding her own spot to relax.

But don't mistake independent for uninterested in people-Sherman absolutely likes being part of your daily life.

She loves rubbing against my legs while I'm going about my day. If I try to sweep, the broom immediately becomes Sherman's newest toy. If I clean the litter box, my tiny supervisor appears to carefully monitor the entire operation.

She doesn't need to be attached to someone's hip or constantly ask for attention. Instead, Sherman has a way of simply inserting herself into the little everyday moments. She'll hang out nearby, investigate what you're doing, get involved when something looks interesting, and then happily wander off to do her own thing again.

When it is time for affection, Sherman is a genuinely sweet girl who enjoys being pet and held.
