*Now foster eligible!*
Orange Juice Jones ACCT-A-261553 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Orange Juice Jones must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or EXPERIENCED FOSTER by SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH at 10 AM. Should Orange Juice Jones medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
This sweet 6 month-old female spayed orange tabby, Miss Orange Juice Jones, arrived at ACCT Philly as an injured stray after a concerned community member found her in his shed. Despite experiencing pain prior to intake, she has been remarkably brave, gentle, and cooperative with shelter staff. She purrs softly when greeted and leans into gentle chin scratches, showing every sign of wanting to recover in a quiet home.
Upon arrival, our medical team performed a sedated evaluation during her spay. Our medical team clipped and cleaned her wound during a sedated evaluation during her spay, and we started her on two antibiotics alongside pain management. She also tested negative for both FeLV and FIV.
She urgently needs a rescue partner equipped to oversee her ongoing veterinary care and wound management, which may require daily sedated flushings, debridement, and potential surgical closure. Providing this level of care in-shelter exceeds our current shelter resources, and the shelter environment poses a high risk of secondary infection for open wounds of this scale. She is now also eligible for placement with an experienced ACCT foster placement.
Miss Orange Juice Jones has come out of her shell, enjoys visits to her kennel, and actively seeks attention. She will make a wonderful companion and deserves a second chance.

BEHAVIORAL :
Per staff on 9/14-
Visited Orange Juice Jones cageside. She was hiding in her box, hunched down, with ears flat. Opened door slowly & offered hand to sniff, her postured loosened & she sniffed. Slowly pet her on the head & she leaned into head rubs, especially when petting around the ears. Also allowed petting down the back, purring softly and stretched out. Would spook easily with some fast movements/loud sounds but settled quickly & allowed petting. No aggression seen, some mild fear that was mitigated with social interaction. Very sweet girl!
