Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

MR CHIPS

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
May 11th
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Mr. Chips (ACCT-A-241441)! Mr. Chips is a friendly, talkative former community cat who has decided that indoor life, especially the couch, is for him. He truly enjoys being around people and will happily hang out in the living room. He's a chatty guy who likes to "join the conversation," and his presence adds a sweet, cozy energy to any home.

Mr. Chips isn't a lap cat. He prefers affection on his own terms and especially enjoys head scratches at his own pace. He's the kind of companion who likes being near you rather than on you - a laid-back couch potato who's just happy to share space together. He would do best with an adopter who appreciates his independent streak and lets him settle in at his own comfort level.

BEHAVIORAL:

Per staff on 5/4:

"I went to say hello to Mr. Chips and he was in the back of his kennel, lying down. He allowed met to pet his head, and closed his eyes while slightly leaning into chin scritches. He vocalized a few times, especially while I was petting his back area. He then slowly hissed at me after I did it the last time, so I assumed his kitty minutes were up and stopped. He did not escalate at all."
