**York River Litter — The Chipmunks**
Meet Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and Eleanor — four irresistible siblings named after everyone's favorite chipmunks, and every bit as entertaining! This playful, affectionate litter loves each other dearly and gets along wonderfully with other cats.
**Alvin** (orange tabby, amber eyes)
True to his namesake, Alvin is the life of the party — bold, playful, and always ready for an adventure. But this little charmer is just as happy curled up in your lap as he is chasing toys. Big personality, bigger heart.
**Simon** (mostly black with white chest and toes)
Simon is the quirky intellectual of the group. He's a bit of an independent thinker, but don't be fooled — he loves his humans and will happily join you on the couch. Watch for him trotting around with a toy in his mouth or grooming his brothers whether they asked for it or not.
**Theodore** (brown tabby w/touches of white)
The only thing bigger than Theodore's appetite is his heart. This vocal, social sweetheart needs to be involved in *everything* and has self-appointed himself the household referee. If you want a cat who will always be thrilled to see you, Theodore is your guy.
**Eleanor** (brown tabby w/white under chin)
Eleanor is pure sweetness in a tiny package — big curious eyes, a love of exploration, and serious snuggle skills once playtime winds down. She's the perfect blend of curious little adventurer and devoted lap cat.

ABOUT KITTEN ADOPTIONS:
(1) Preference is given to adopters for kittens in pairs. Having a pal will help your kitten settle into their new home, and have company when youre not around. This offers them a buddy to play with and can help keep the mischief to a minimum. This, in turn, makes them better companions, which results in you being happier humans. Please let us know if you would like to meet some of this kitten's siblings and friends.
(2) WE TYPICALLY RECEIVE MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS FOR THE SAME KITTENS. Of course, if you think they're adorable, others may, as well! Be sure to spend time with more than one kitten and list all of your favorites (in order of preference). Please be patient with our all-volunteer staff as we sort through the many requests. Thank you!
(3) THANK YOU FOR ADOPTING! Welcome to a new beginning - both for you and your potential new cat or kitten! At the heart of it all is an opportunity to share your life with a furry companion who's just waiting to find their forever home. Here's what you need to know to ensure a smooth transition for your new cat or kitten from Feral Affairs Network (FAN).

Settling In: The Rule of Threes
Transitioning to a new home is a big journey for a cat. The Rule of
Three's is a helpful guide to set your expectations:
3 Days — Time to decompress and begin to feel safe in their new
surroundings.
3 Weeks — Settling into routines, learning their new home, and
starting to show their personality.
3 Months — Fully at home and truly part of the family. This is when
they blossom!
Patience is everything. Behavioral changes along the way are completely
normal and part of the process. For more on acclimation, visit our FAQ:
https://www.feralaffairs.org/faq/
++++++++++++++++++++
Our Promise — Every Cat and Kitten Comes Home With:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated — rabies & FVRCP
Microchipped
Screened for FIV & FeLV
Treated for parasites and fleas (to be continued by you at home)
Any additional veterinary care needed for two weeks.
An electronic copy of their medical history for your vet.

Ready to Adopt? Here's How:
Please email us at AdoptaFANcat@gmail.com to get started, then follow
these steps:
STEP 1 — Application
a) Complete our Adoption Application at www.feralaffairs.org/adopt
and email us at AdoptaFANcat@gmail.com to confirm.
b) Complete our Kitty Care Quiz at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/kittyquiz
(Easy — just read each section before answering!)
c) Send a few photos of your home. They don't need to be perfect —
just show it's a safe and comfortable space.
d) Schedule a quick call with our Adoption Coordinator to go over
your application and answer any questions.
STEP 2 — Meet & Greet
Schedule a time to meet your favorite cat in person — either at
Catnip Cat Cafe in Norfolk, Greenbrier PetSmart in Chesapeake, or
their foster home, *depending on where they're currently staying*.
Look at the start of this listing, or inquire with us about their location.
STEP 3 — Contract & Welcome Home!
When we've agreed it's a great match, we'll finalize the adoption
with a contract, collect the adoption fee, and get you ready to
bring your new family member home!
Note: FAN kittens do best with a feline companion. We encourage adopting
two cats or kittens together, or adopting into a home that already has a cat.
