Noel - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Newport News, Virginia

Noel was born with a heart condition which causes a heart murmur, but she is not clinically affected by it. When she was a small kitten a heart murmur was heard during her physical exam and she had an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) for further evaluation.

It was discovered that Noel was born with a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). In her case, this is a small defect between the two larger chambers of her heart. Most VSD's are small and do not cause many, if any, signs of disease.

Noel's testing revealed good news. There weren't any subsequent changes to her heart vessels or heart chambers and no other heart defects were identified. She does not need any medication or special care for her condition and her heart murmur can be monitored annually at her regular veterinarian appointments. A copy of the echocardiogram will also be provided after adoption.
