Poseidon - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in New York, New York

What my friends at ACC say about me:
I have lived with cats in my previous home.
I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.

A volunteer writes: In Poseidon's previous home, he'd watch the door so that he could always be the first to greet his person when they entered. He's watching his condo door now and I don't think it's what he wants to be doing. So, in full disclosure, Poseidon doesn't want to be at the Care Center and we know that there's been very little we can do to convince him it's only temporary. We've shown him toys, we've shown him treats and offered some pets but the shelter with all its uncertainty represents an enormous departure from his life before. Brought to us due to housing insecurity, but not a lack of love, Poseidon's said to be wary of meeting new people, curious about other cats, and affectionate. I wish I could tell you more about him, but I think we're all just hoping that someone will open their hearts and home to this furry little fuzz of potential and give him a little chance.
