Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Babygirl Cali is laying in the back of her hidey cubby, pupils dilated and initially hissing as the assessor approaches. She is softly spoken to and after a few moments Babygirl Cali approaches the front of the kennel, softly head bunting the assessor's hand and allowing and leaning into all petting. She is able to be easily picked up but squirms to be put down when she is held, not showing signs of escalation. When she is placed back in her kennel, Babygirl Cali remains at the front of the kennel and continues to allow and lean into all petting.

Babygirl Cali interacts with the observer, solicits and appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearfulness and overstimulation.

A volunteer writes: Baby Girl Cali is a beautiful, 2 year old calico. When she first arrived she was a bit fearful and conflicted, however, she is settling in very nicely, in my opinion. This sweet girl came directly to the front of her kennel waiting for me to interact with her. We got acquainted through the kennel door in which she remained calm. When I opened her door, she quickly strode to the front and pushed her head into my hand. She began to gently purr as she continued to rub her head into my hand. She was very eager to interact, look around the room, and try to greet her neighbors. She remained calm and friendly during our entire interaction and I grew to love her.
