Loki means the god of mischief, and Apollo means the god of music, poetry and song. Their names fit them, as Loki is always looking for something to get into, and Apollo loves to sing his meows loud and strong. They are alive today thanks to the perseverance and dedication of their feral mom, Ramona. During a week or two of very intense thunderstorms, Ramona diligently moved all five of them from spot to spot, trying to keep them dry and safe. She is a beautiful, non-aggressive calico who, once weaned and spayed, has been returned to her outdoor home and is being cared for by her finders. They adopted three of the kittens.
We normally don't answer the phone that late at night, and we are very thankful that we did this time. We were contacted around 10 pm, when they spotted the kittens huddled underneath their car in a very heavy rainstorm. We told them to bring the kittens, but they needed to also bring the mom. We gave them a humane trap, and had them place the carrier with the kittens at the end of the trap to lure her. Success!
Only because they have three other cats. Loki and Apollo we're left with us to wait for there together forever home. Not only are they gorgeous boys, they are well behaved, very playful and affectionate. Whoever they pick as they're together forever humans will be very blessed with years of laughter and love.
