Mia - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Montclair, New Jersey

Mia is a miracle cat in more ways than one. She came to Cameron Animal Hospital after being found collapsed outside. She had an abscess deep in her sinuses that was impeding her breathing and eating, and was causing systemic infection. She also has a mild case of Cereballar Hypoplasia (CH), a developmental issue which makes her walk with an odd gait and causes her to loose her balance easily. It will not affect her health or lifespan, but it would have made it incredibly difficult for her to live on the streets, making her survival and rescue incredibly special.

Mia is a petite girl, and she has a huge personality for such a little cat. She loves being pet, and seeks attention and affection. She has definite opinions and is very chatty, and will let you know if she does not like something or if she wants something. She has shown occasional interest in toys, but prefers playing with people. She makes hilarious faces while playing, and loves rolling around. In general she is very content watching the world go by outside the window, taking naps, and getting pet. Because she can sometimes be mouthy when communicating, she should not go to a home with young children. Additionally, because she knows how special she is and wants all of your attention to herself, she does not like other cats and dogs, and must be an only pet.

Mia's CH does not slow her down. She runs and plays, and is still very active. She cannot jump high, but does climb on and off chairs and sofas. She has not been tested with stairs. Despite her difficult start, Mia is a healthy girl and she is thriving. She is FeLV/FIV and Bartonella negative. She has been spayed, fecal tested and dewormed, has received her full series of FVRCP (distemper) and Rabies vaccines, and she will be microchipped.
