DESCRIPTION

Meet Moose (and Brook!)

Moose and Brook (affectionately known as Brunty as the runt of the B litter) both had challenging starts in the world. Brunty came to rescue in pretty bad shape weighing half the amount of his littermates at only 9 ounces and with wounds over his tiny body. He came to me as a little fighter though, eager to survive, and finally after almost 3 months, Brunty is now ready to find his forever family. Brunty is the most affectionate little kitten with the biggest heart and eyes. He loves to purr, cuddle and nuzzle your face. Now at almost 3 pounds, he is still small for his age but strong enough to keep up with all of his siblings. He loves to do all the things kittens love to do play, chase, climb, and for him - EAT. He is a perfect little guy.

Moose came to rescue as part of a trio. Unfortunately, both of his littermates passed away about a week apart from each other. Their deaths have resulted in some emotional regression with poor Moose. He became shut down and afraid to trust. In order to help Moose, he joined my group of 11 consisting of the B Litter and Z Litter kittens and they have been together for the past 8 weeks. Over that time, Moose has done so great with his new littermates. He loves to play, chase, and cuddle with all of them. His interaction with people on the other hand, has been a little slower and more challenging. Initially he would hide or run from me all of the time. Although he has come a long way in the time that I have had him, he is still not a cuddly boy YET. He is starting to trust me more though. He plays near me and is coming closer to me all the time. He will try to sneak a peak at my laptop or chase my toes. He will crawl in my purse and is very curious about my lap as he has seen all of the other kittens curled up there frequently. Whether he lets me pet him when he gets close, is hit or miss. I have found that I can always pet him when he is eating and he is really learning to love those meal-time booty scratches. And if he is laying on a perch or cat tree, I can also usually pet him. I think he just isn't sure of the surprise pets.

So in order to best support Moose, we are looking for these two kittens to go together and feel confident that Brunty will be a great emotional support buddy to Moose. They really are a great pair and are frequently cuddled up and play well together. Brunty is super affectionate so I think that will be great not only for his new family, but also great for Moose to see. The ideal family for these two kittens and for Moose in particular, will be a family that is willing to give him the time, patience and support to become the confident kitten he is meant to be.
