Hello! My name is Clancy. I am a 2-year-old excitable kitty looking for my forever home!

I spent the early parts of my life as a stray, living through harsh weather and lots of traffic nearby. One day, I was meowing for someone to come help me because it was so cold outside, and someone heard me. When they opened the door of their apartment building, I confidently walked right in! I was so friendly right away and immediately started asking for pets and snuggles, and the human who found me has been fostering me ever since. Now, I am a loyal companion who purrs and greets you when you come home, and I love to keep conversations going by meowing back at what you say.

In my daily routine, I will sometimes say good morning by sitting on your chest and purring. Other times, I'm sleepy and will wait for you to prepare my breakfast before I bound over to my food bowl. Afterwards, I am ready to burn off energy by pouncing on a wand toy or chasing a spring across the floor. I can entertain myself with a toy for a few minutes, but I much prefer to play with you! I like to nap in the middle of the day and will choose a cozy corner or a place that has your scent, like your bed or chair cushion. I take breaks from my beauty sleep to come say hi, and will sometimes curl up in your lap if you are nearby!

I am currently living with one human in an apartment, and I would thrive in a home where I am the solo cat and receive plenty of attention. Whether you work outside the home and dedicate quality time to me in the evenings or work from home and can share your day, I will be a happy guy as long as you engage with me often! I love to have visitors and would do well in a lively household, though I would do best with older children and adults because I can sometimes get overstimulated.

Because I used to be a stray, I am still learning how to gently ask for what I need. I will sometimes bite when I want to play or when I want some space from petting. I will do best when people can understand my cues and give me space when I need it. I always appreciate a good play session to redirect my energy. I also like to have a calm zone in the home where I can settle down for a few minutes, before coming back and continuing to be your affectionate companion. I would love a home that will be gentle and patient with me as I figure out indoor life. Could that be you?

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
