Rita (working cat) - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Marshfield, Wisconsin

Meet Rita, a 7-month-old girl who has shown up at the shelter twice after being caught in a live trap. Instead of putting her back to where she came from again, we want to set her up for long-term success in a safe outdoor home where she has a caregiver watching out for her.

Rita is looking for a "working cat" lifestyle where she can live in an environment she understands—like a barn, shop, or outbuilding. At her young age, she isn't quite ready to be totally independent and will need a dedicated caretaker to provide food, water, and a safe place to sleep while she transitions to her new surroundings.

If you have a safe outdoor space and are looking for a future expert hunter to join your team, Rita would love to meet you (from a distance of course).

There is no fee to adopt a working cat and all cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, eartipped and microchipped. For more information about our working cat program, and to complete an application, visit our website: www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/working-cats
