Carlo is an 8-year-old polydactyl tuxedo boy with extra toes, a shy heart, and a brother named Bandit who means everything to him.

He came to us the same way Bandit did: through loss, through upheaval, through the disorienting experience of having his entire world change without warning or explanation. Carlo has processed that the way shy cats do: quietly, carefully, and close to the one constant he has left.

Where Bandit goes, Carlo goes. That is simply how it is, and it is one of the most loyal things we have ever seen.

His extra toes are the first thing people notice. His gentleness is the second. Carlo is a polydactyl, which means a little bit extra in all the best ways, and once he begins to trust you, that sweetness will come forward. He is not going to rush. He is going to do this on his own terms, but he is going to get there!

Carlo needs the same things Bandit needs, such as calm, patience, and the steady presence of a home that is not going anywhere. He needs Bandit beside him while he figures that out.

These two boys are not a complicated adoption. The person who opens their home to Carlo and Bandit will receive something most people never get the chance to be: the good thing that happens after the hard thing.
