Martinique is a small, slender girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She's had a rough start: a broken leg and pelvis that meant eight weeks of crate rest, much of it in a cone while her surgery scar healed. She was patient through it all, and now she's blooming into the charming kitty she was always meant to be. Every day she's a little more willing to be cuddled, a little more trusting, and that journey makes her all the more special.

She's a medium energy girl who loves being around her people but is perfectly content doing her own thing. She'll follow you from room to room just to hang out, whether you're upstairs, downstairs, or anywhere in between. When you're settling in for a nap, she'll join the crowd and cuddle on her own terms. She's not one for being scooped up and held; she's still a bit skittish about that. But if you let her come to you, she'll arch up to meet your hand like a little dolphin, asking for more pets.

Martinique is absolutely play motivated. She loves catnip mice and bananas, balls, fuzzy toys, anything that looks fun. She'll lie next to a cabinet or the refrigerator where a toy has vanished, using her paws to try retrieving it with real determination. She'll chase flies, she'll chase anything that moves, and she talks to herself while wandering around the house, just chatting quietly like she's narrating her own little adventures.

She wants to be part of the cat group, and in a household with friendlier cats, she'd quickly become part of the gang. But she's also independent enough to do beautifully as a solo artist. She entertains herself well and is content in a cozy spot for stretches throughout the day.

What makes Martinique special is her resilience and her sweetness. She's been through something hard and came out the other side still eager to love and play and be loved.
