Meet sweet Charlie. He was found outside, desperately trying to get into a neighbors house. Everything about him tells us that he was once someone's house cat. Somehow, he ended up outside and was left to figure out how to survive on his own. And yet, he is incredibly sweet. He loves attention, wants to be close to people, and is rediscovering what it means to feel safe.

Sometimes he will give a little bite-not to hurt, but almost as if he still feels he needs to protect himself. After surviving outside, some habits take a little time to disappear. What he needs is someone patient who will give him the security to understand that he never has to defend himself again.

He is also FIV positive. FIV affects a cats immune system, but it does not mean he cannot have a wonderful future. With good nutrition, regular veterinary care, and an indoor home, many FIV-positive cats live long, happy lives.
