Katla - Domestic Short Hair Cat Available for Adoption in Lima, Ohio

KATLA

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Lima, Ohio
May 12th
female, medium, senior

DESCRIPTION

She has so much love to offer, her nose is heart-shaped. 💖 Katla is the sweetest, cuddliest girly looking for her forever family. With silent, airy meows and lots of head bonks, it’s hard not to drop what you’re doing and to cover her with pets and kisses. 😭 And when she’s SUPER happy, you’ll always know (courtesy of her drooling and demanding to be chest to chest or nose to nose). She’s a big fan of quality time, sunshine, slow and gentle mornings. Katla also likes to play the part of helpful shadow (aka she’ll follow you around and make supportive biscuits). ☀️ Katla has seen many seasons of life over the last decade, some good, some heartbreaking .❤️‍🩹 But you’d never know it. Katla is practiced at living with several other cats, dogs, and kiddos, but she THRIVES in a slower environment where she can get some of the TLC she deserves. 💖

More about Katla:
-I'm 9-year-old female (turning 10 this summer!)
-I was rescued by and adopted from The Kitten Koop in 2022, but this spring, my adopter decided they no longer wanted me.
-I'm spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines.
-I've been dewormed and deflead.
-I tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
-I will let you trim my claws.
-I have perfect litter box habits.
-I'm up-to-date on dental cleaning/tooth extractions as of April '26. I've had to have quite a few of my teeth pulled, and now I have the cutest blep in the world!
-I have two unique health needs. Please continue reading!

Special needs: Senior cat care experience (or experienced cat parent) preferred!
Katla was neglected for most of her life, and now that she's a senior, she's developed two health conditions: a low-grade heart murmur and early stage kidney disease.
-Her heart murmur (grade 2-3 as of April '26) requires regular veterinary checkups and may require medication in the future. Your vet can help you determine a checkup routine.
-Her kidney disease is currently being managed with urinary care food, bi-monthly subcutaneous fluid therapy, and bloodwork monitoring - all of which she handles like an absolute angel! She'll be sent home with a urinary care food starter kit.
-She's looking for an adopter who's committed to working closely with a veterinarian and giving her the best golden years possible. She also wants her future family to keep in mind that her needs may evolve as she ages.
