Aya is someone's soul cat. She is an extraordinary companion, and whoever adopts her will be very lucky.
Aya (rhymes with papaya) appeared on my back deck on a freezing late-spring morning. She bravely let us know she wasn't feral and desperately needed support for herself and her unborn kittens. That act of courage changed the trajectory of their lives. She moved into my yoga room, where she effortlessly raised six perfect little yogis. Once she no longer had to protect them from predators, her true personality began to shine.
Not only is she the textbook definition of a perfect mother, but she is also outgoing, loyal, protective, funny, confident, resilient, and incredibly loving. She is very easy to care for, uses the litter box perfectly, stays tidy at her food bowl, and is an impeccable groomer. While she isn't overly interested in playing, she loves being near the action. She is very friendly and loves kisses and affection. Please see note, she prefers gentle pets and soft strokes. She wants to be a true part of your life, a partner-in-crime, not just forgotten in the background.
While with her foster family, Aya has spent time with large dogs, neutered male cats, and her own kittens. She is comfortable with all genders. She gets along well with everyone and has no issues politely expressing her boundaries when a dog gets a little too nosy. Oh and she loves a high perch or shelf near her people where she can relax.
Aya was meant to be someone's best friend-the kind of companion who helps you through life's upheavals. She must have faced a lot of hardship as a young, pregnant cat on her own, but her journey led her to a foster family who has cherished her and kittens who adored her. Now, she is ready to find her forever home and make someone else's dream come true.
Thank you for falling in love with her too,
Kelly (foster mom)
