Milano was initially overwhelmed by the transition from outdoor life, and he shut down completely in a kennel environment. We decided to try bringing him to a foster home to see how he'd respond. Day by day, his foster family watched him bloom as he gradually came to understand that he is safe and loved. He now trots alongside his foster family wherever they go, chirping and chatting along the way. His favorite move is to drag his wand toy "kills" around the house while singing to show off what a great hunter he is! His second favorite move is flying leap wrestling moves with his foster-mate, Alba. Although they look like siblings, they met in foster and are now a very close pair who snuggle and play together.

Milano LOVES the company of other cats and needs a home with other kitty companions. He grew up in a small barn colony and was used to cats always being around. We have not observed him around dogs.

Because he is very new to sharing a home with humans, he is seeking patient, mature adopters who can show him that people are safe, predictable, and not scary. For that reason, he would do best in a quieter home of adults, or families with older, respectful children only. Because of his wilder upbringing, it is important that Milano be kept as an indoor-only cat so that he knows he is not being abandoned to outdoor cat life again. He is very happy bird-watching through your windows as an alternative.

Milano loves being petted and brushed. He is still learning to trust being picked up or held on your lap. We believe he will get there because he is so loving. Milano seems to have some food sensitivities, and is currently benefitting from a low allergen, hydrolyzed protein diet.
