Ponyo is a beautiful girl who’s been through a big change after losing the only home she’s ever known when her owner became ill. Adjusting to shelter life has been difficult for her, but as she’s settled in, her sweet personality has started to shine through right alongside her signature tortitude. She’s a friendly cat who enjoys pets and affection and will happily cuddle up with her people, at least until she starts feeling overwhelmed and needs some quiet time to herself.

Ponyo is looking for an adopter who understands and appreciates cats with strong personalities and who will respect her boundaries when she’s ready to unwind. Because she can become overstimulated with too much attention, she would likely do best in a home without young children who may not yet understand feline body language and personal space.

She previously lived with two other cats and wasn’t especially fond of sharing her space. Ponyo would likely be happiest as the only cat in the home, though she may be able to coexist with a calm cat who gives her plenty of space and doesn’t bother her.
