Maple, Spruce, & Leaf - The Warrior Kits - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Indian Land, South Carolina

On August 10, we got a call from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. They rescued three female kittens from a Tractor Supply bucket. The man who found them posted the kittens on a community site and told the Shelter to come get them or he would feed them to the coyotes. The kittens were skinny and needed a good bath, but were already eating wet food, which means they were about five weeks old. We are calling their birthday July 4, 2026.

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with The Warrior Cats book series. If you have preteen or young teen girls or granddaughters, you’ve probably heard something about them. There are about a bajillion books in the series. All the cats are named after something in nature. So these little warriors are Maple, Spruce, and Leaf.

But there is good news and bad news. The good news is they are stunningly beautiful. The bad news is they are stunningly beautiful when they are clean! Very literally, we have had hundreds of orphan kittens adopted through our rescue. These ladies were the messiest eaters by far. Not just one, but all three! Meal time has been an assembly line. Feed the kittens, bath the kittens, blow dry the kittens. They have gotten much better. They may still get a little food on their ears, but they are healthy, loving, playful, and litter trained.

We have a strong preference for littermates to be adopted in pairs, the advantage being you are guaranteed to have a bonded pair with siblings. We would love for someone to open their home to all three kittens, but we realize it can be hard to find that family. We are hoping at least two of these ladies will be adopted together.
