Meet Asha and Her Girls: Jaya, Berenice & Nika!

When a community member in Meridian, Mississippi reached out for help with a group of cats, we were able to step in—and we're so glad we did. This sweet little family now carries names that reflect their journey: Asha means "hope," while Jaya, Berenice, and Nika all have roots connected to “resilience” and "victory" Together, they represent hope, resilience, and the happy endings we're working to find for each of them.

Nika is the princess of the family. She loves being held, soaks up attention, and is always happy to be doted on.

Jaya is a sweet, easygoing girl who tolerates being held and enjoys spending time with her people.

Berenice is affectionate and social but prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. She's happy to accept pets and attention—just don't expect her to be carried around for long.

And don't forget Asha, the loving mama who raised these girls and is now ready for a forever home of her own.

All four are sweet, social, and great with children. These kitties ready to bring a little hope—and a lot of love—into your home.

Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.

All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
