Meet Callie! This sweet little tortie is slowly coming out of her shell, and once she decides she trusts you, you'll discover what a total sweetheart she really is!
Callie may be a little shy at first, but give her some time and patience and she'll start looking for you. She loves sitting on your lap, hanging out beside you while you work, crawling around on the desk, and asking for pets and attention. She also loves to cuddle up under the blankets with her kitty roommate, Lizzy, and the two of them have become quite the little duo.
Callie isn't the biggest toy enthusiast, but she absolutely loves playing with her people. Get her riled up and she'll happily bat at you and show off her playful side!
And of course, we can't forget the tortitude! Callie knows what she wants and isn't afraid to let you know when she's had enough attention. She may give you a little hiss when she's ready for some space, but she has never bitten or behaved aggressively. In fact, her hissing has decreased by about 90% since she first arrived in foster care. It's simply her way of communicating, and she'll do best with a family who understands and respects her boundaries.
Callie has been fostered with another cat and does wonderfully. She and Lizzy seem to be good friends, so we think she may really enjoy having a feline companion in her forever home. She has also been exposed to the sounds and smells of dogs and hasn't seemed bothered, although she hasn't had a direct introduction yet.
She's young, uses her litter box like a champ, and is a GREAT eater. Give her a little time to settle in, and Callie will reward you with plenty of affection, cuddles, and her own special brand of tortie sass.
Callie is looking for a patient family who will let her blossom at her own pace. Once she does, you're going to find a pretty wonderful little kitty underneath that initial shyness.
