Where do I even start with Titania?
This little Queen of the Fairies has been through more in her short life than any cat ever should.
Titania was rescued in early July 2026 from a horrific hoarding situation. We won’t go into the details, but thanks to another local rescue, every cat in that environment was safely removed. We took in two of the most critically ill cats to begin the long process of rehabilitation.
Titania was one of them.
And, oh, what a work in progress she has been.
When she arrived, she weighed just 5.8 pounds and was profoundly underweight and emaciated. But her lack of body condition was only the beginning.
Her tongue was severely inflamed and covered in painful ulcers, making something as basic as eating incredibly difficult. Her front paws were affected by severe ulcerative and proliferative pododermatitis, commonly called pillow foot, which had destroyed much of the healthy paw-pad tissue and extended up her left foreleg.
And then there was her bladder.
Radiographs revealed a dime-sized bladder stone accompanied by multiple smaller stones. They were causing painful, bloody urination, and we can only imagine how long this sweet girl had been suffering. When she was sedated, I could actually compress her bladder between my fingers and hear the stones clanking against one another.
Titania was also profoundly anemic. Her red blood cell percentage was only 12%, when it should have been at least 30%. She was far too fragile to safely undergo the surgery she desperately needed.
So, we started wherever we could.
I removed the damaged, protruding paw-pad tissue and stitched her up so she could walk without quite so much pain. We put her on a carefully chosen cocktail of medications to get her inflammatory conditions and anemia under control.
Ten days after she arrived, on July 16, she was finally strong enough for surgery.
And not a moment too soon.
We removed all of those stones—and they were pretty impressive—and spayed her at the same time.
That was the beginning of Titania's new life.
Today, just two months later, Titania is thriving.
She is no longer anemic. Her bladder is comfortable. And, thankfully, she hasn't sprung a leak since surgery. She has gained much needed weight and is a healthy 8 pounds.
She will need ongoing steroids to manage her chronic inflammatory conditions affecting her tongue and paws, but thankfully, she responds beautifully to treatment. One injection can last anywhere from four to twelve weeks.
And because Titania's medical needs are part of her story, Crash’s Landing will cover the costs of her ongoing care related to these chronic conditions if her adopter continues that care with Dr. Jen at Feline Wellness Center.
But perhaps the most beautiful part of Titania's story isn't medical at all.
It's Peaseblossom.
Peaseblossom, Titania's daughter and polydactyl little fairy princess, arrived at Crash's Landing about a month before her mother. When Titania finally arrived, we reunited them.
It was pure joy.
They recognized each other, and watching them together in a safe, comfortable environment has been incredibly special. Peaseblossom can sometimes take her play a little too far, and Mom is quick to remind her who's in charge—but seeing them together, happy and safe, is something we will never take for granted.
And then there is the Titania we are seeing now.
She is blossoming.
Over the past few weeks, this once-fragile little girl has discovered that life can actually be fun. She is super playful, loves to hunt toys, and has become my little shadow around the shelter. She follows me from place to place, looking for attention and whatever fun might be happening next.
She's not particularly fond of being picked up, but she absolutely loves back scratches and one-on-one attention.
And I can't help but believe that there is so much more of Titania waiting to emerge.
She needs someone who will give her what she has never had enough of: time, security, patience, and love.
We’d especially love to see Titania adopted by someone who is home often. Someone who will appreciate having a little fairy following them from room to room. Someone who understands that the most rewarding relationships aren't always instant—that sometimes, the greatest gift is watching a cat slowly realize that she is finally home.
Titania has already fought so hard to get here.
She survived neglect.
She survived pain.
She survived being dangerously sick.
And now she is learning how to play, trust, explore, and simply be a cat.
Her next chapter shouldn't be another rescue story.
It should be a love story.
Titania has spent enough of her life surviving.
Now, she deserves to be someone's beloved little queen.
