Pepper - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Gorham, Maine

Pepper was surrendered to us along with six other cats when their family said they could no longer care for them.

But Pepper didn't come alone. She came to us with a tiny family of her own.

Unfortunately, because of the lack of care before they reached us, we lost all but one of her babies. 💔 This photo is just a quick snapshot of Pepper during those days--being a mama, caring for her babies, and doing the very best she could with what she had.

But Pepper's days of motherhood are officially behind her. Forever. And for that, we are so grateful.

Now it gets to be about her.

Pepper deserves a family who will truly cherish her. A family who understands that loving a pet means more than providing food and a place to sleep--it means routine veterinary care, parasite prevention, proper nutrition, and making sure they have everything our beloved pets deserve throughout their lives.

She will never have to raise another litter. She will never have to worry about keeping babies alive again. Her only job now is to be somebody's beloved cat. ❤️

And she's ready.

Pepper is a wonderful girl who does great with cats, dogs, and kids, and she's hoping someone will take a second look at the mama who spent so much time taking care of everyone else.

Maybe now it's finally Pepper's turn to have someone take care of her.
