While Geneva recently had a light FIV-positive test, it is important to note that kittens often carry maternal antibodies that can trigger a positive result; many of these kittens test negative by the time they are 6 months old. Even if she remains positive, FIV+ cats live long, healthy, and happy lives in stable indoor environments and cannot transmit the virus to humans or non-feline pets. To ensure she stays well-socialized, we follow The Power of Two: Geneva must be adopted with a sibling or go to a home with a young, active resident cat to keep her company.
