Meet Xena, Warrior Princess!

Xena is a tiny tortie with a BIG personality and enough tortitude to rule her kingdom! This beautiful girl is a true survivor who has already overcome more in her short life than most cats ever will.

Xena was found extremely malnourished and in desperate need of help. After being rescued, she was diagnosed with panleukopenia. Against the odds, this little warrior fought through it and survived. Today, she is healthy, spunky, energetic, and ready for her forever home.

Xena was bottle-fed from a very young age and grew up as a solo kitten, so she didn’t get the same opportunity to learn kitten boundaries from other cats. She is VERY enthusiastic about using her teeth and can be quite bitey when excited or overstimulated. Because of that, she is not a good match for a home with small children. Her ideal adopter will be an experienced cat owner who is patient, consistent, and willing to keep helping her learn appropriate play.

And Xena LOVES to play. She hunts, chases, pounces, and stalks her toys with total commitment. When she catches her feather toy, she sometimes growls over it like a tiny lioness protecting her prize.

Xena is affectionate in her own very-Xena way, and we think her softer side will continue to grow as she settles in and builds trust with her person.

Xena may do especially well with another playful, appropriately matched cat who can help teach her some manners and give her an outlet for all that energy.

She isn’t looking for just any kingdom — she’s looking for the right one: an experienced cat person who will appreciate her quirks, respect her boundaries, give her lots of playtime, and love her through her spicy phases.

First step: Fill out the required adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our cats/dogs will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs-age appropriate), FeLV/FIV test (cat/litter), microchipped, and current on vaccinations.

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in foster homes with us, so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval.

Meet some of our adoptable at the Frisco PetSmart Adopt-A-Pet center Friday-Sunday. Adoption counselors are available onsite at PetSmart most Saturdays & Sundays, 12-4 p.m. to conduct meet and greets and onsite adoptions.
