DESCRIPTION
ZOEY, a gorgeous 13-year-old feline, spent the first 9 years of her life at a local shelter in a cage with other cats, relentlessly being bombarded by the noise from the dog compound right next to their enclosure. In desperation, about 4 years ago the shelter reached out to us because she had literally gone “cage crazy” and became unmanageable. After having her evaluated by a veterinarian who also specializes in cat behavior, Zoey was placed on Fluoxetine and given a quiet room to herself. Her demeanor changed dramatically. As long a she stays on her meds she is a very sweet cat. She still does not like other cats and displays that dislike clearly. Zoey still has her very own room at the facility, complete with 2 large windows, a sizeable cat post, her own water fountain, and three beds! We are currently looking for a home with no other pets or children for her.
