ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
This little guy is Rufus! He had a very rough start in life in Amman, Jordan. When he was a kitten, he was violently attacked by an older cat who bit chunks out of his fur. The large wounds became infected, and Rufus was in poor shape when he was Rescued. With lots of time and care at the vets and a prolonged recovery at his Fosters, Rufus healed fully from his wounds. He is now happily adjusted to life being a housecat while looking for his Forever Home.

Rufus is very shy at first, most likely due to the attacks he sustained as a kitten. As long as he is approached slowly and cautiously, he can be petted and will lean into the pets as he gets used to the affection. He can be picked up but still isn't sure if he likes it or not. With time, and enough one on one interaction his Foster is sure that Rufus will learn and understand how good being picked up and petted can be. He is also learning how to play with toys and is making lots of progress in that area. He has come so far from the terrified, beaten little kitten he was and has so much more potential to be the perfect companion. Rufus gets along with his fellow foster cats but best if no dogs or small children. Rufus has so much love to give and has come around the world to find a home where he will thrive.
