Lara - Domestic Short Hair Cat Available for Adoption in Ellijay, Georgia

Meet Lara! Lara is our longest resident cat and has been at the shelter since 3/29/25. Like many cats, the shelter environment was overwhelming and scary for her, and it took time for her to feel safe and understood. With patience, love, and the help of an amazing foster home, Lara truly blossomed. We were finally able to see who she really is, and she continues to grow more confident every day as her true personality shines through.
Lara will need an adopter who understands that she may be shy at first, but with time and patience, she is truly a wonderful cat who just needs the chance to feel safe, loved, and at home.

As she grew more comfortable, Lara's true personality emerged. She is now a sweet, affectionate, and playful companion who forms strong bonds once she feels safe. Lara has previously had dental work, including tooth removal, and she does wonderfully. She also has a slightly wobbly walk due to an old leg bone fracture that has fully healed. This does not stop her from getting around, enjoying life, or being a happy, loving cat.

Lara will thrive in a patient, understanding home where she can continue to feel secure and loved.
