Everyone, meet Dusk! Dusk, meet everyone.
Dusk is a perfect, precious, sweet, playful kitten. She also happens to have Cerebellar Hypoplasia.
Cerebellar Hypoplasia, referred to in shorthand as CH, is a non-progressive neurological condition in kittens where the cerebellum (the part of the brain controlling balance and coordination) fails to fully develop. Affected kittens are not in pain, are not contagious, and can live a normal, full lifespan with proper care.
Symptoms include:
-A wide legged stance, swaying, or jerky movements.
-Intention tremors: Rhythmic head bobbing or shaking that worsens when the kitten tries to focus on something, like a toy or food bowl.
-Frequent Tumbles: They easily lose balance and may tip over, though they usually bounce back quickly.
It usually shows up between 4-6 weeks of age, but *does not progress*. She will live a normal, happy, full life if someone can make a few accommodations for her (no free access to stairs, for example.)
Dusk is a special girl. She has a safe place here until she finds her forever home! But she'll make someone a delightful companion. She is such a character!
I'm looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click "apply for adoption" or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let's get our family started!
