Meet Pear

Pear's world was turned upside down when he and 25 other cats were rescued from a home where they were living in very poor conditions. After spending his entire life in one environment with very little socialization, the shelter has been a big and overwhelming change for him.

You can see the uncertainty in Pear's eyes. He isn't quite sure what to make of all the new sights, sounds, and people around him. To help him adjust, he's spending time in our Open Cat Room alongside some of his former housemates and a few confident feline friends who are showing him that the world isn't such a scary place.

Pear isn't ready to be a lap cat just yet, but we believe he has the potential to blossom with the right family. He'll need a patient, understanding home willing to let him move at his own pace and discover that gentle hands can bring comfort instead of fear.

Because he finds so much comfort in other cats, Pear would do best in a home with a confident feline companion-whether that's one of his former housemates or a friendly resident cat already in your home. We know having a cat buddy will help him continue building his confidence as he settles into his new life.
