Maitake - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Davis, California

Meet Maitake! (Yes, like the mushroom—because she’s guaranteed to grow on you!)

Maitake might take a little extra time to survey her surroundings and decide you’re her person, but once she stamps you with her seal of approval, get ready for unlimited affection! She is a true "cat on a motor"—the second you start giving her pets, her fluffy engine revs into some high gear purrs!

Got cold feet at night? Throw away your heating pads. Maitake is a dedicated bedtime cuddle bug who insists on sleeping glued directly to your side (or right on top of you) every single night.

When she isn't purring up a storm, Maitake plays hard! She treats everything that moves like a high-stakes adventure—whether it’s a feather wand, her own tail, or her foster sister's tail.

She takes a beat to warm up to other kitties, but after a proper, slow introduction, she does great with feline friends.

A patient adopter who will give her a calm transition period to feel safe. Once she settles in, you'll have a loyal, fluffy, purring shadow for life!
