Meet Yumi (pronounced You-me)

Yumi is a stunning tuxedo girl with a personality all her own.

She came to us after surviving an attack from another animal while living as a stray. While she is healing beautifully, both physically and emotionally, she is still learning what it means to fully trust again. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Yumi continues to make steady progress at her own pace.

Yumi is more independent and prefers things on her own terms. She enjoys observing her surroundings and being nearby, but she is not overly demanding of attention and appreciates having space where she feels safe and secure.

One thing that consistently brings her out of her shell is food. Yumi is a big foodie and is very vocal when it comes to mealtime and treats. She is not shy about letting you know when shes ready to eat.

When it comes to play, Yumi really shines. She loves toys she can swat at, chase, and bat around, especially anything that moves quickly or keeps her engaged. Her absolute favorite thing is lounging in her cat hammock while happily batting at her toys, combining comfort and play in the cutest way.

Yumi is also affectionate and enjoys cuddle time once she feels comfortable. She has a sweet, loving side that she shares with the people she trusts, and she appreciates gentle affection and quiet bonding moments.

Because of her past experiences and her need for a calm, predictable environment, Yumi would do best as the only pet in the home. She is not a good match for other cats, dogs, or young children, and will thrive in a quiet adult-only home where she can feel safe at her own pace.

Yumi may need a little time and understanding, but for the right person, she offers a truly special opportunity to watch a resilient girl slowly learn to trust again and build a bond that means everything.
