Meet Bread!
Bread is an adorable 1-2 year old female gray and white tuxedo kitty. She came in with her housemate and likely sister, Butter — a 1-2 year old brown tabby female who will also be available for adoption.
Bread and Butter were sadly surrendered to a local veterinary hospital after being found abandoned in carriers in a metro park. Its believed they were left there for nearly two days before being discovered. They were dehydrated and in need of immediate fluids and supportive care. Its a heartbreaking situation, but thankfully they were found in time.
While both girls physically recovered, the emotional recovery was a little different for each of them. Bread bounced back quickly and showed her sweet, social personality right away. Butter was much more fearful and shut down at first, but with patience, love, and time, she has blossomed into a kitty who will now happily crawl right into your arms.
Situations like this are so hard for animals to understand. Just like us, fear sets in when they feel unsafe and abandoned — and it can take time for them to learn that they are finally okay again.
The only silver lining is that they were found, they were given care, and now they have the chance to start over.
Bread is very sweet, playful, and affectionate. She enjoys attention, doesn't mind being held, and truly just wants love and stability. She is looking for a safe, loving forever home where she can finally relax and be cherished.
