Dorothy - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

Sweet Dorothy was part of a stray colony on the South Shore of Chicago that we were able to rescue along with some of her babies. Sadly, many of her prior litters died according to the colony caretaker and Dorothy had been around the neighborhood for many years. She was very sick when we got her and underweight. Diagnostics were done where we discovered she has diabetes. Fast-forward several months and she is thriving and is an absolute gem receiving her insulin shots each day. She’s quiet, loves to nap in the sun and follow you around and it’s just a very polite, dignified gal. She’s helped us raise many foster kittens and is not afraid to give them a stern spanking if needed. Dorothy deserves the home of her own. It’s time. Our Vet guesstimates her between 7 to 8 years of age. Her bottle of vetsusan is $85 and it lasts several months so it is very cost-effective to treat her. We will send her with a full bottle of insulin as well. Apply now! https://tinyurl.com/CARFapp2026
